The engineering and technology groupSener and its joint venture with Masdar,Torresol Energy, is planning to attend the international conference on field of concentrating solar power (CSP) ‘SolarPACES 2012, Concentrated Solar Power and Chemical Energy Systems’, to be held in the Moroccan city of Marrakech between 11 and 14 September.
It is an international event organized by the International Network of SolarPACES Energy Agency (IEA), which has been held for over thirty years and brings together key players in the CSP. SolarPACES aims to be a forum for the dissemination of new technological advances in the field of CSP and account for it in each issue, with leading experts in the field.
Torresol Energy installed one of the first commercial plants with CSP central receiver technology system tower and molten salt storage Torresol Energy has three power plants in operation in Spain, said Gemasolar and Valle 1 and Valle 2, two twin central trough technology that went into commercial operation in early 2012. In turn, SENER is a global market leader CSP technology, both for the development of the art and the number of projects in the pipeline. To date, SENER has participated in 25 solar plants in Spain, the US and India, representing 1,500 MWe of installed capacity or under construction and represent savings of 1,000,000 tonnes of CO 2 per year. These include its technology pioneer plants like Andasol 1 or Gemasolar own.
